Description

Supreme West Lake Long Jing Dragon Well – Hand-Crafted Hangzhou Green Tea

The tea garden where we source our Supreme West Lake Long Jing is located high in the mountains of Hangzhou, the legendary home of Dragon Well tea. For generations, the family who tends this land has crafted exceptional Long Jing by hand, using traditional, natural farming methods and pan-firing techniques passed down from one generation to the next.

This batch is picked from the very tender first spring shoots. Each leaf is meticulously hand-picked in late March, then carefully roasted by hand in wood-fired pans. Our supreme grade offers a subtler, grassier and more refined finish than mainstream Long Jing picked later in the season.

Tasting Notes

  • Dry leaf: flat, smooth, pale green leaves resembling pine needles
  • Liquor: pale, delicate green
  • Aroma: wonderfully fragrant and fresh
  • Flavor: refreshing, floral and gently grassy
  • Finish: subtle, clean and elegant

Why You'll Love It

West Lake Long Jing is one of China's most celebrated teas, and this family-crafted, hand-roasted supreme grade represents it at its finest. It's elegant, refreshing and full of springtime character — a true connoisseur's green tea.

  • From the mountains of Hangzhou, home of Dragon Well
  • Hand-picked first spring shoots in late March
  • Hand-roasted in wood-fired pans
  • Family-crafted for generations

How to Enjoy

Brew it in a clear glass to watch the flat leaves float and sink, and re-steep for several delicate cups. It pairs beautifully with light dishes, steamed fish, vegetables and delicate pastries, and makes a special gift for green tea connoisseurs.

Refined, fragrant and steeped in tradition, Supreme West Lake Long Jing is Dragon Well at its very best.

Excellent tea. I have been trying lots of different dragon well teas (at least 9), and this ranks up there with the best of what I have tried so far. This is pre Qing Ming, and also from West Lake (Xihu) region. The price is very reasonable for the quality.

This Long Jing is by far the highest quality I have come across. You won’t be disappointed.

I have been trying to convert from coffee to green tea and this particular tea made it easy. It is delicious and delivers a slight caffeine boost, but not too much. I get 3 pours out of 1 heaping teaspoon. It may be my imagination, but when I am working, I sip it and I feel more productive and balanced. I value that it's organic.

One of the best tasting Dragon Well teas I have tried. I get good flavor for 3 infusions. It may be a bit pricey, but to my taste buds it is well worth it!
