Description

Purple Bud Tieguanyin is a rare and distinctive cultivar of Tieguanyin, prized for its naturally purple-red young buds and exceptional aromatic depth. Sometimes referred to as “Red Bud Slanting Tail Peach, ” this tea stands out for both its appearance and refined flavour profile.

Appearance
The tea leaves come from a shrub-type plant with gently spreading growth and slanted branches. Mature leaves are oval, thick, and glossy dark green, with softly waved surfaces and pronounced veins. The defining feature is the striking purple-red young buds, slightly drooping and delicately curved, giving the plant its unmistakable character.

Aroma
Once brewed, Purple Bud Tieguanyin releases an elegant and layered fragrance. Classic orchid notes typical of Tieguanyin are enriched with subtle hints of ripe fruit and natural honey, creating a fresh, vibrant, and lingering aroma.

Taste & Mouthfeel
The liquor is smooth, mellow, and naturally sweet, offering a refined balance of freshness and depth. The signature “Guanyin charm” unfolds with each sip, followed by a clean, lasting sweetness and a lingering floral aftertaste. Even after multiple infusions, the tea maintains its complexity and richness.

Craftsmanship
Processed using traditional Tieguanyin techniques, this tea undergoes careful picking, withering, cooling, tossing, fixation, rolling, and roasting. Precise control of tossing intensity and roasting temperature is essential to preserving its distinctive aroma and layered flavor.
