Description
Keijo Saemidori Sencha – Luxury Umami-Rich Miyazaki SenchaKeijo Saemidori Sencha is a luxury green tea grown in Miyazaki Prefecture on the southern island of Kyushu, Japan. It's made from leaves picked early in the first-flush harvest, lightly steamed in the traditional fashion and rolled into elegant needle shapes. The Saemidori tea bush was developed in 1969 by crossbreeding Yabukita, Japan's most popular tea cultivar, with Asatsuyu, a cultivar known as "naturally grown gyokuro" for its sweetness. The result is a cultivar prized for its vivid green color, natural sweetness and rich umami — qualities that shine in this exceptional sencha. Tasting Notes
