Notre Assam "Black beauty" #8 est cultivé de manière biologique et produit dans la magnifique ville de Taiwan. L'Assam Black Beauty est un thé distinct et très attrayant, dont la richesse de goût est tout simplement inégalée. Avec des notes naturelles de crème, de miel et de bourbon ! Ce thé est délicieusement malté avec des notes de raisin sec et de fruits à noyau. C'est un thé très doux, riche en caractère et délicieusement profond ! Vous remarquerez que la saveur n'est pas aussi vive que celle d'un Assam indien traditionnel, mais qu'elle a presque les caractéristiques d'un oolong foncé.

La production de thé noir à Taïwan a été lancée par les Japonais en 1903. En 1926, le premier cultivar d'Assam a été introduit et planté autour des collines du lac Sun Moon, dans le comté de Nantou. Le climat, l'environnement et le terroir de ce lac ont été jugés les plus proches des jardins de thé d'Assam en Inde. Aujourd'hui, Sun Moon Lake produit la majorité des thés noirs de Taïwan à partir de trois cultivars distincts : un Assam pur, un cultivar indigène et un cultivar hybride appelé #8 !

[EN] A leaf from the Sanxia District of northern Taiwan, this tea is crafted from the same leaves as a Bi Luo Chun green, and picked when the leaf is young. The dry leaf is long, twisty and black with twinges of maroon and a touch of gold. The dry leaf certainly has a fruity fragrance! And in a blind taste test, I would certainly guess this is a Taiwanese tea. It's very close in appearance and flavor to Premium Taiwanese Assam. An explosion of lingering mouth feel, very fruity. That lychee again, but also strawberries. A bit of a drying mouth quality. Second steep, it tastes more like a Ruby 18 varietal. The third steep seemed a bit weak and not sure if it was worth a third steep, mostly tasted like a faint Ruby 18. The first steep was definitely the best. Maybe I needed to rein in the steeps to recreate that first cup of amazing flavor.It's odd this tea is VERY similar in flavor to the other black tea from Tealyra I had the other day, the Wen Shan Bao Zhong black.
